Responsibilities include evaluating student participation andachievement, organizing staff training, engaging families, and ensuring effective communicationand sustainability of OST initiatives.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport and expand opportunities for ACS students outside of the regular school dayand school year, including afterschool, summer, evenings, and weekendsImplement a system for evaluation and continuous improvement of out of school timeprograms, including collecting data on student participation, achievement, andengagementCollaborate with community providers to map current out of school time offerings andidentify gapsCoordinate training opportunities for extended learning staff, both ACS andcommunity-basedCommunicate with site-based leadership to identify logistics of program implementationLeverage strong family engagement to learn more about what families want with out ofschool time opportunities for their childrenWork with community partners to align the vision, goals, and strategies for out-of-schooltime learningDevelop and outline activities that incorporate program & district goals into a dailyroutine, including home-to-school connections and activitiesResearch out of school time programs, compile qualities of effective programming, andcreate a repository of shared resourcesCreate a digital hub for ACS families to access information and resources for out ofschool time learningWorking with the Executive Director of Community Partnerships, create a sustainabilityplan for out of school time programs that includes diversifying funding sourcesDevelop a communication plan to promote the program's vision and opportunitiesQualificationsPossesses knowledge of the Asheville community and community resourcesPossesses basic knowledge and understanding of school-aged childrenPossesses experience working in a school or youth-services settingPossesses strong communication and collaboration skillsCenters racial equityWork Hours and Compensation:The position of ACS Out-of-School Time Learning Coordinator is a full-time or part-timecontracted position funded with grant funds for two school years (through June 2026).
