Join our team at Professional Services Group!The Family Support Program provides services to youth who have been reunified with their family following an out-of-home placement. As the Family Services Specialist, you will work closely with identified families to address a wide range of concerns, including: safety planning, parenting, and coaching strategies to effectively parent and de-escalate aggressive or heightened behaviors. The Family Services Worker may also provide support and assistance with other areas of family life, including household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, education, employment, medical needs, mental health resources, and substance abuse issues.This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced professionals and recent graduates looking to explore career opportunities in the human/social services field. If you are ready to take on a new challenge and make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable families, we want to hear from you!KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SERVICES WORKER:
- Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
- Analyze client histories and capabilities to determine services required to control safety threats.
- Provide face-to-face contact with families to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plan, and to provide crisis response to de-escalate, support, and educate.
- Assess families and refer to any needed community resources.
- Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
- Safely transport clients as needed.
LOCATION: Appleton, WI with local travel required to meet clients within the home or other community spaces. Flexibility to work hybrid/remote two days per week. Must be able to meet in-person with families located in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday with rotating evenings and weekends. SALARY: $21.00 per hourRequirements
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
