Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 Hourly Location : Monona, WI Job Type: Seasonal / Limited Term Employee (LTE) Job Number: 2024-00447 Department: Parks & Recreation Opening Date: 10/17/2024 Closing Date: 11/8/2024 11:59 PM Central Description and Terms of Employment The Ice Maintenance Attendant is a proactive and hands-on individual who performs general maintenance to ensure that facility upkeep and regular flooding of the City of Monona's outdoor ice rink (Lake Ridge Bank RiverRink) is completed in a timely and safe manner. Primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing and edging (operating the ice resurfacing machine), janitorial work, trash rounds and general maintenance of the facility, and snow and Ice removal from walkways and entrances as needed. Additional hours beyond normally scheduled maintenance hours are also available during snow events. This is a part-time, seasonal position, from mid-November 2024 until early March 2025 with 15-20 scheduled hours per week. Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for the position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned.

Operate the ice resurfacing machine.

Level the ice.

Paint the ice as needed.

Repair the dasher board system when necessary.

Maintain and repair facility fixtures and components.

Complete janitorial duties as assigned.

Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe.

Remove snow and ice from walkways and entrances as necessary.

Complete safety checks, clean, and wax the ice resurfacer .

Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports including ice resurfacer sign out / safety check.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Knowledge and Abilities

Previous experience and training in the operation of ice resurfacing equipment

Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude (preferred)

Trade or janitorial experience is an advantage

Organized, self-motivated and proactive

Approachable and team-orientated with great communication skills
