We are looking for a full-time Outpatient Clinical Therapist to join our team at our Gallup offices. We offer a competitive salary range from $54,000 - $66,500 (BOE) and the Benefits shown below. Summary:

Under the supervision of the FCDRC Clinical Supervisor, the Outpatient Clinical Therapist provides professional substance use disorder counseling to outpatient clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders referred by the community or the DWI Treatment Court.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Admissions Advocate (Benefits): (Included but not limited to)

You'll report to the Clinical Supervisor and:

  • Perform assessments on outpatient clients including specific assessments for DWI Treatment Court clients when necessary.
  • Participate in required training and project implementation planning for the HRSA MAT Access Grant and other grant initiatives that implicate outpatient services.
  • Assist outpatient clients in developing and implementing their personalized, individual treatment plans which address their self-identified co-occurring treatment issues. Client treatment plans will be executed using various treatment techniques and therapeutic counseling skills associated with established national treatment standards for the treatment of co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide individual or group therapy utilizing psycho-education cognitive/behavioral methods, motivational methods, Matrix Model, or other therapeutic modalities as assigned.
  • Support ancillary support groups (CRAFT, 12-step, Wellbriety, Alumni, etc.) programs as directed.
  • Prepare and maintain complete case files on all assigned clients, making sure that all required services, forms, and reports are included and complete.
  • Enforces and maintains policies, procedures, rules, regulations, guidelines, and adherence to and compliance with client service delivery, confidentiality, and ethics.
  • Complete reports to resource agencies as required.
  • Record client progress notes that are reflective of treatment goals/objectives.
  • Provides intake/admission services.
  • Assists other staff in the management of clients in emergencies.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment for clients.
  • Provides and coordinates referral services for clients to other agencies for services not provided by FCDRC.
  • Participates in initial and ongoing training on the Matrix Model and other EBP utilized for client service delivery. Maintains fidelity to the EBP being utilized.
  • Must be licensed at the time of hire, and continue licensure throughout employment.
  • Attends all mandatory Staff Meetings.
  • Coordinates with all Program staff to ensure that all requirements of the program are being met.
  • Participates in weekly group supervision with the Clinical Supervisor and other program staff.
  • Conducts chart reviews of current clients during group supervision as indicated/required.
  • Performs other related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of confidentiality such as HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Advanced knowledge of behaviors and emotions related to addiction
  • Advanced knowledge of community and referral resources for clients' diverse needs
  • Skills in documenting effective case management notes
  • Proficient use of standard office equipment and systems: phone, copier, the computer including Microsoft Office Word and Outlook tools.
  • Ability to coordinate volunteer and vocational activities for participants
  • Critical thinking/problem solving
  • Ability to manage a variety of tasks and organize workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with all levels within the organization
  • Familiarity with community resources including mental health, social, financial, educational, housing, employment, childcare, and other support that may be required.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Addictions, or related health field.
  • Current LPCC, LMHC, LMSW, LMFT, LADAC, LPAT, or Masters Level Counseling license.
  • Two years experience working with clients with co-occurring mental health/substance abuse problems. Providing individual and group psychotherapy.
  • Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with BHSD Standards and requirements for the use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
  • Must have and maintain a current, valid NM Driver's License. Must also have and maintain clean driving records, as well as auto insurance.
  • Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred. (English/Navajo)
