The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.For additional information, contact the Physician Practice Recruiter, Conrad Romero at ...@nyuhs.orgKey Responsibilities and Expectations* Coordinates clinical training, orientation, and ongoing evaluation of new/existing urgent care clinical staff as well as completion and submission of clinical competencies at time of hire and annually.* In collaboration with the supervisor, coordinates urgent care clinical schedules, ensuring appropriate clinical support for extended hours of the urgent care facility.* The RN provides clinical leadership staff while overseeing the scope of practice of LPN's and Medical Assistants in the urgent care setting.* Triages and assesses acutely ill patients for early identification of signs and symptoms to prevent complications and ensure timely intervention of acutely ill patients.* Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.* Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.* Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and oversees proficiency validation according to regulatory standards, Includes oversight of tri-annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and Lab credentialing.* Collaborates and leads patients, families, and all members of the health Care Team in coordinating patient care.* In collaboration with the Unit Coordinator, participates in and facilitates Performance Improvement activities, monitors PI data, and assists with the development of Performance Improvement plans.* Collaborates with Unit Coordinator to promote and facilitate the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.* Participates in educational opportunities and in collaboration with the unit coordinator, assists in providing information updates and acts as a resource for all clinical staff.* Demonstrate commitment to organizational Values of Compassion, Trust, Respect, Teamwork, and InnovationEducation/Experience_Minimum Required:_Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum._Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.License/Certification_Minimum Required:_Current NY State RN license.Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.Work Environment* Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.* The office is air conditioned as well as heated.* Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.* Fast-paced environment including frequent interruptions.* Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.* Possibility of lifting of patients.* Mobility may include access through a multi-level facility, including climbing stairs.* PPE- Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.Age of Patients Served* All Age GroupsHIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information* Clinical - Access to patient information that is not restricted (an example of restricted information is ARU) - Level 3Direct Experience, Nursing (RN)Job Type: Full-timePay: $30.54 - $45.82 per hourWork Location: In person
