Position Summary: Support and develop the outreach program for the Northridge/Brulene/Southridge NORC program sponsored by Selfhelp Community Services, Inc., to increase the visibility of the NORC program in Jackson Heights/East Elmhurst and resident participation in respective NORC activities and services. Principal Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Program Director, become educated on the specifics of the NORC Program, the community served, and the surrounding area
- Work with the Program Director and NORC team to develop an outreach plan, to identify potential new participants in the NORC program; work to develop strategy for engaging new participants in person and remotely
- Identify clients who could benefit from additional technology support for engagement, and assist clients in accessing remote programming
- Work with the Program Director and NORC team to implement the outreach plan including organizing NORC outreach events and activities as well as attending community events to promote and inform residents of NORC programs and activities
- Make calls informing and/or reminding clients of upcoming activities with the goal of increasing participation
- Support NORC team in setting up and cleaning up program rooms as needed
- Work with the Program Director to develop and update the NORC website, and social media sites and assist with compiling monthly newsletter and e-newsletter
- Work with Program Director to conduct community surveys, satisfaction surveys, focus groups, etc., as indicated
- Assure client contact lists (phone numbers, email lists, etc.) are up-to-date and current.
- Participate in the formation of the system to track progress, maintain accurate records of activities, and provide information to the Program Director as determined by the needs of the program
- Data entry of respective NORC activities, surveys, etc. into Peer place and any other database systems indicated
- Attend and actively participate in supervision meetings with the Program Director to assess progress and discuss potential changes in focus of efforts for program
- Participate in respective NORC team meetings and any other Selfhelp meetings as indicated
- Adhere to the organization's standards by completing annual mandatory training in a timely manner on topics including - but not limited to - Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, IT Security Awareness, Compliance, OSHA, HIPAA, and any other training the organization may deem necessary in regards to regulatory compliance or good business practices.

Salary Ranges: $25 - $27 per hour commensurate with experience. Job Competencies and Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) and a minimum of two years of related experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups of older adults, and the general public.
- Basic technical skills are required.Able to perform data entry.
- Must be computer literate with proficient skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read, write and speak English and at least one other language that is used in the community preferred (e.g., Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Urdu, Hindi).
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Working Condition
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and sometimes up to 25 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be able to attend meetings and other out-of-office functions by using public or private transportation or other conveyance, including climbing stairs when necessary
