Each member of InterAct's staff fulfills an important role in furthering InterAct's mission.The Child Welfare Outreach Counselor/Case Manager provides direct services and support to victims of domestic violence emphasis on victims of domestic violence who have an open case with the Wake County Human Services Child Welfare division. This position will split time between the InterAct office and the Wake County Department of Human Services. The Child Welfare Counselor/Case Manager will be a liaison between Wake County Human Services Child Welfare and InterAct staff.This position is part of the Personal and Economic Empowerment Program (PEEPS) which provides case management, advocacy, and support services to adult victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence. As a member of InterAct's PEEPS Team, the counselor/case manager must be an exceptional advocate, must share InterAct's commitment to putting clients' needs first, and must perform their work in a manner that consistently upholds our core values. Responsibilities:Provides crisis counseling to victims of domestic violence who have an open case with the Wake County Human Services Child Welfare Division.Provide onsite consultation and training to child welfare workers at Wake County Department of Social Services, Child Protective Services Division, Swinburn, Southern Regional Center, Northern Regional Center, and Western Regional Center sites.Assist to create protocol and best practice standards when working with victims of domestic violence and their children.Completes Domestic Violence assessments with clients who are working with child welfare.Provides case management as assigned by Associate Director of PEEP.Provides staffing on crisis lines/walk-ins, as scheduled.Provides support to Child Welfare staff who are working with victims of domestic violence.Attend staff meetings at Wake County Human Services and at InterAct. Provide hospital/solace center and court advocacy as needed.Coordinate with community professionals to ensure comprehensive support for both children and their families.Provides Associate Director of PEEP with monthly contact report.Enter client data and information into Empower DB program.Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.Advocate for clients and facilitate access to community resources and services,Participates in all required meetings, retreats and trainings.Facilitate volunteer training, as needed. Experience in crisis intervention setting, preferable with victims of domestic and sexual violence. Must pass a background check satisfactory to InterAct's standards and adhere to COVID policies.
