POSITION SUMMARY The Local Outreach Director's mission is to see their city transformed by the power of the Gospel through evangelism, community engagement, and serving the greatest needs within their community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Local Partnership Development
- Utilize city mapping to define 3 focus areas for your campus with your Campus Pastor
- Develop partner organizations to support and serve alongside
- Create a short-term and long-term strategy to develop relationships with organizations in the city
- Develop impact groups for your campus to continually serve in our communities
- Integrate our focus areas and partnerships within other ministries in your campus
- Create and upkeep community resource contacts for referrals
Outreach Team Development
- Develop a campus outreach team and recruit volunteers for consistent city efforts
- Identify future leaders for the Outreach team and develop and train them
- Create awareness for Outreach initiatives at your local campus to share of what God is doing and to mobilize the church to serve
- Host and facilitate trainings for your team members and/or campus
- Administer Outreach connection requests for your campus
Outreach Event Coordination
- Coordinate Central initiatives on your local campus, including Easter Outreach, Serve Our City Day, and Thanksgiving Bags
- Create a strategic 12-month calendar for evangelism and needs-based outreaches
- Support and execute all outreach-sponsored events for your city based on the campus matrix and campus size
- Facilitate promotion, operations, and follow-up processes for all events
- Order event supplies and request design for creative elements as needed
- Support Global Missions weekend and events facilitated in your region through recruitment and support with logistics
Administrative Support
- Oversee the benevolence system and process applications
- Stay up-to-date on city news and create weekly updates for your campus staff
- Keep updated data on all outreach efforts on your campus through the ROCK database
- Oversee Local Outreach budget for your campus
- Process monthly giving for local missionaries and partners
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) This position requires a love for Christ and a desire to grow deeper in relationship with Him. It is essential that the individual filling this role also has a heart for the lost and an understanding of the church's role of being salt and light in our communities. Necessary Skills: Relationship-building, team development, leadership, strategic thinking, time management skills, heart of compassion. Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a helping profession such as Social Work, Public Administration, or Psychology Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
