As a telemetry nurse, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and interpreting the vital signs of patients, primarily those with cardiac conditions. You will work in a fast-paced environment, where every second counts, and your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous monitoring and interpretation of patient's vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation levels.
- Administer medications, as prescribed by physicians, and monitor their effects on patients.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, and take appropriate actions to address any potential issues.
- Document all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid license to practice in the state.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry nursing, with a strong focus on cardiac telemetry.
- Proficient in interpreting EKGs and other cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make quick and accurate decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
