Job Overview:This role is responsible for managing existing accounts while aggressively pursuing new business opportunities in key industries, including agriculture, chemical, mining, fertilizer, food processing, minerals, plastics, recycling, pet food, and kitty litter. The ideal candidate will have a strong industrial sales background, ideally with experience in the wire cloth industry.Key Responsibilities:
- Territory Management : Cover the New England states, managing customer relationships and identifying new sales opportunities within the assigned region.
- Account Management & Development: Maintain and grow existing accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention. Focus heavily on generating new leads and closing new business.
- Industry Targeting : Focus on diverse markets such as agriculture, chemical, fertilizer, food processing, minerals, plastics, recycling, and more to drive business growth.
- Collaboration : Work closely with inside sales teams, customer service, engineering, internal account managers, and the VP of Sales to ensure smooth operations and effective account management.
- CRM & Reporting: Utilize the company's proprietary software and CRM system to maintain customer data, track sales activity, and generate call reports. Attend trade shows to generate leads and build customer relationships.
- Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Collaboratively develop KPIs with the VP of Sales. Provide annual sales forecasts and daily call reports to track performance and support company growth objectives.
- Travel : Expect up to 50% travel to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and cover territory needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial sales experience is required. Experience within the wire cloth industry or related industries is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in CRM systems, customer data management, and sales reporting. Experience with sales forecasting tools and customer management software is essential.
- Industry Knowledge : Familiarity with the applications and needs of industries such as agriculture, chemical, food, minerals, and recycling is preferred.
- Sales Skills : Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and consultative selling skills are critical. Must be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Travel : Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required if compensated by significant industry experience
