Outside Sales Representative

Matern Staffing is hiring an Outside Sales Representative with a material handling company in Clarksburg, WV. As the Outside Sales Representative, you'll optimize your strong communication skills, self-motivation and B2B sales background to effectively build customer relationships, solve problems, and meet sales goals. You'll be a trusting partner with customers as you understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions.

This is a hybrid position; however, candidates must reside within St. Albans, WV to effectively support the assigned region. In this Sales Representative role, you'll step into a thriving territory with existing relationships and expert customer service and service tech support. Our client provides hands-on training through ride-along experiences and mentorship.

Salary: $50,000 base + commission

Schedule: 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain relationships, expanding customer pipelines within the territory
  • Travel across assigned sales territory to grow business relationships
  • Implement strategies to increase sales and profit by prospecting new opportunities
  • Create and present customer-specific proposals
  • Conduct market research to produce competitive comparisons
  • Develop and maintain expertise on industry trends and best practices relevant to material handling solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and evaluate equipment properly for trading purposes
  • Collaborate with Finance to explore and present the best options for helping customers secure purchases of new, used, and rental equipment
  • Attend sales trainings and seminars as needed

What You'll Need:

  • At least three years of experience in b2b equipment sales
  • Familiarity with a wide range of material handling equipment, including lift trucks, aerial equipment, racking, dock, and door equipment
  • Familiarity with robotics, automation, telematics is a plus
  • Proactively approaches situations with excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong track record of reliability and a driven, team-oriented mindset that values both hard work and celebrating success
  • Proficient in MS office products
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to pass drug test and background check
