Our company manufactures and specializes in the sale of new scaffolding and shoring material for the commercial, infrastructure and industrial markets.

We're looking for a Sales Representative who will coordinate the sale of shoring and scaffolding material in a designated sales territory by maintaining existing customers, re-establishing inactive customers, and developing new customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships by calling on potential new and existing customers to discover their material requirements for shoring and scaffolding systems through phone calls, emails, face to face meetings, and networking events.
  • Develop new and current customers with actionable goals to attain business within a determined timeframe.
  • Identify and re-establish contact with customers who previously did business with us but have not been active recently.
  • Effectively prepare and present proposals, handle customer inquiries and objections, and negotiate advantageous terms of sale to secure business opportunities for the company with appropriate manager approvals.
  • Maintain current and accurate pipeline of leads and sales through our CRM interface (Pipe Drive).
  • Collaborate with management to ensure company and branch sales initiatives are aligned and achieved.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure the yard facilitates customers' orders quickly and accurately.
  • Assist in billing and past-due account follow-up to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment collection, while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Maintain awareness of competitor's development programs and sales efforts in the designated territory.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings focused on reviewing your pipeline for current sales, forecasting, lost sales and developing your knowledge and expertise in our product line and industry.
  • Effectively interact with various departments from operations, billing, credit and legal.
  • Entertain customers as required, in compliance with published company policies and guidelines.
  • Overnight travel may be required with manager's approval.
  • May be called upon to make sales calls outside of the designated sales territory as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Sales, preferably in the construction shoring, forming and scaffolding industry.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business in sales or construction management preferred.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner while observing all traffic regulations.
  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills for sales presentations, negotiating terms and conditions of sales, and to communicate effectively with company employees, and customers.
  • Requires the ability to review and process important information and prepare timely, accurate, and competitive proposals for the sale of shoring and scaffolding systems.
  • Understands how sales, business development activities and account management impact the company.
  • Will handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity.
  • Will deliver the highest standards of service to customers.
  • Takes initiative, manages time, tasks, and multiple accounts effectively, and adjusts priorities based on business demands.
  • Excellent command of English (speaking, reading, writing). Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficient and effective selling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications, (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Willing and able to learn new computer systems, and products, and an eagerness to keep up on current customer, industry, and competitor development.
  • Self-motivated, assertive, team player with a strong work ethic, able to work independently in a results-driven, fast-paced environment.
