NOW HIRING: We are looking for an Overhead Crane Material Handler to join our weekend shift Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) team. The Overhead Crane Material Handler is responsible for the identification and location of specific component parts, preparation of product for shipment and delivering the materials/products to their intended locations.As an Overhead Crane Material Handler, you will:Use crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as requiredStack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together, using banders, tape, padding, shrink wrap or other materialsEnters job data in the production tracking systemInspects material handling equipment and lifting devicesVerify quantities listed on manufacturing documentation are met and items conform to printsProperly organize and store materialMaintain organization of products and raw materialsIdentify and initiates corrective actions (NCM) to improve BOM and inventory accuracyUtilize ERP software to research inventory discrepancies and understand status of Jobs & materials moving through the manufacturing processManages the flow of material based on the leader's directionRole Qualifications as an Overhead Crane Material Handler:Preferred candidates will have experience in a manufacturing environmentPreferred candidates will have Material Handling experience including overhead crane and hoistsSkill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in EnglishSkill to accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devicesProficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawingsComputer literate; particularly in word processing, spreadsheet, email, shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applicationsAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAbility to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperworkWhy Millerbernd and Who We Are:We strive to create the best opportunities for our employees.
