Job Overview:
Regency Park of Carroll is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Overnight Nurse (Registered Nurse, RN) to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the Overnight Nurse will provide high-quality care to our residents during the overnight shift. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to residents during overnight shifts, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with the facilitys policies and procedures.
- Monitor residents for changes in health status and report significant findings to the physician or nursing supervisor.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing appropriate care and ensuring a safe environment for all residents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including CNAs, physicians, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
- Ensure infection control standards are adhered to, following facility policies.
- Provide education and emotional support to residents and their families as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continually enhance the standard of care at the facility.
- Support the nursing team with training and mentorship of new staff members as needed.
Education Requirements & Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Iowa.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and professionalism in all interactions with residents, families, and staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move about the facility for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, move, or reposition residents with assistance as necessary.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach in order to perform necessary nursing tasks.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
