Essential Job Functions
- Supervises DSPs in all aspects of their job, assisting when necessary, in the total care of the individuals in assigned living area(s)/community home.
- Carries on the mission of The Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence by increasing opportunities for individuals and staff to enhance their spiritual, physical, emotional, and psychological growth.
- Oversees the overnight operations of their assigned living area / home (including but not limited to: staffing conflicts, menu planning, shopping, house meetings and resident care and support, where applicable).
- In conjunction with the House Manager, ensures adequate staffing for their assigned living area/residential cottage, maintaining the prescribed levels of supervision and budgetary restrictions.
- Supervises and monitors the implementation of Individual Support Plans (IPPs) of the residents, ensuring the completion and accuracy of all required documentation, including but not limited to: Point-Click-Care, program goals, behavior tracking sheets, accountability checklists and incident reports.
- Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team Process including team, IPP, Incident and Medical Meetings.
- Ensures a safe, sanitary, and family-like environment in the home by ensuring any physical plant concerns are quickly and correctly reported to Maintenance Department and/or Administration
- Assists in planning of recreational, vocational, and community inclusion activities, chaperones group sponsored trips/social functions, participating as needed.
- Maintains the shift report and communicates with the Assistant House Manager(s) or fellow House Manager(s) to ensure that all relevant information is shared to ensure the health and safety of each individual entrusted to our care as well as the ongoing daily operations of the living area/ home; conducts the shift report meeting and emails report to the Management Team.
- Adheres to the guidelines set forth by the Incident Management Bulletin and DPV's Incident Management (IM) Policy to ensure the timely reporting of incidents.Performs look behinds after an incident and takes immediate corrective action, when necessary in order to protect the health and safety of our individuals and prevent a reoccurrence.
- Supports the individuals in their spiritual life by coordinating their attendance at mass, rosary or other faith activities.
- Rotates coverage of call out phone throughout their shift as assigned to ensure proper management oversight and ensure health and safety in the homes.
- Performs their duties in a professional manner and promotes a positive atmosphere among individuals served, co-workers and outside parties.
Other Essential Job Functions
- Ensures that all employees in the home comply with the policies and procedures of Divine Providence Village and Developmental Programs Division as well as the requirements set forth by the Department of Health.
- Ensures that each DSP in their assigned living area(s)/ home maintains compliance with the Training Policy inclusive of all mandatory trainings; demonstrates competence and acquires certification in CPR/FA training assisting to meet the training needs of DSPs as needed.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to communicate medical, social, and behavioral needs of individuals served, in a timely fashion.
- Maintains ongoing communication with families, guardians, and advocates of the residents in a professional manner.
- Assists the House Manager in maintaining Personal Needs Allowance (PNA) funds for the individuals served, tracking monthly and submitting receipts and paperwork within required time frames.
- Assists the House Manager in maintaining petty cash funds, reviews purchases made and receipts for accuracy, submits receipts and change to Finance Department in a timely fashion.
- Completes ongoing documentation as required and reviews house documentation as required.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the House Manager.

- Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred from an accredited college or university. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- Two (2) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is required. Prior management experience in the field of human services is highly preferred.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership abilities and willingness to cooperate with other departments and staff.
- Possess tact, patience, enthusiasm and a cheerful disposition with all clients and staff.
- Must be detail oriented, have good problem solving skills, organizational skills and must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and write competently in English.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid (state of residence) Driver's License and driving approval from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is required.
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain acceptable background checks - FBI, PA Child Abuse, and PA State Police Criminal History.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position will directly supervise Direct Support Professionals.Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: Working knowledge of computers and be willing to learn the software programs used by the State and other governing agencies (e.g. HCSIS, Enterprise Incident Management System) and internal systems (e.g. CareTracker, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in a variety of settings and environments and has a low exposure risk to adverse weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.In the event that unanticipated aggressive behavior manifests from individuals served and de-escalation techniques fail, physical crisis intervention may be required.Must be available to work flexible hours and is expected to come in at various times depending upon work-load and business needs.Physical Demands:The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and rarely lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
