This is an entry level position that will be responsible for assisting to accurately overpack various products to ensure they can safety be transported to our customers and assembly of kit or bulk packages. This includes ensuring accuracy in product, properly preparing designated items for shipment and picking various products in the warehouse for assembly, as needed. For this entry level position, the Overpack Warehouse Associate must be detail-orientated to ensure accuracy with overpack products and kit assembly.Primary Responsibilities
- Follow all established procedures for each department within the Distribution Location, including all maintenance and safety procedures.
- Achieve proficiency standards within each department, as directed by your supervisor and set by the respective Distribution Center Manager. Individuals are expected to meet department standards when completing tasks across various departments.
- Overpack Duties : Processing incoming products that need to be overpacked or repackaged for sale which include; Over boxing, utilizing a Foam Machine, Auto-Bagging Machine, Tape Machine and Bubble Wrap Machine to protect the product, assembling small parts for product bundles.
- Labeling, counting and repackaging various products, ensuring accuracy in orders, as needed.
- Follow appropriate department procedures to report incomplete or incorrect orders.
- Work with other departments to ensure product replenishment of designated items.
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to move various products throughout the warehouse, which include but not limited to Pallet Jacks and carts.
- Use computers and hand-held equipment where necessary.
- Perform general warehouse housekeeping duties for to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be willing and able to learn new technology and computer programs such as: RF Scanners, Printing Programs, components of MS Office Suite and NetSuite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to accurately repackage products and accurately count in large numbers of products.
- Be punctual, reliable, and prepared for work during work days and hours.
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to read documents written in Standard English text.
- Enjoy working independently as well as in a team-environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Physical Demands
- Stand and walk for long periods of time within a Warehouse Setting, completing similar, repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to push/pull carts with heavier products and occasionally lift products up to 90 lbs.
- Must be able to push/pull carts and lift, pull or push up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able and willing to complete a team lift assist for any products/packages, as needed.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level frequently.
- Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment where temperatures vary with the seasons.
- Must be able to regularly use warehouse equipment such as step stools, ladders and other tools to assist to retrieve products above ground level.
- Able to work around equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and loud noise.
- Be able to use and work with a computer, and other technology that regularly requires you to be within 20 inches of a computer/electronic screen.
