This role involves working with students aged 18-21 who have varying levels of ability. The primary focus is to support these young adults in their transition from school to the workforce, helping them develop the skills necessary for successful employment and independent living. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in acquiring job-related skills through direct instruction, modeling, and hands-on experiences.
- Provide on-the-job coaching to students at various work sites, helping them understand job tasks and expectations.
- Help students with daily living skills as needed, fostering greater independence.
- Participate in training sessions to better understand and support the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, vocational training, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with young adults with disabilities or in a vocational training setting is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and employers.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Training:
