Roseburg is a booming retirement community and thus has a very large patient population for its size. Roseburg and its surrounding area have a catchment area of about 150,000. It is large enough to have a Costco, but still has small town charm. Be 5 minutes from work but live on beautiful acreage or on the river. Exquisite natural beauty and outdoor activities abound in Roseburg. Hiking, fishing, hunting, biking, running, tennis, skiing (alpine and cross-country) are readily available. We have an active theater community, many fine and performing arts activities for children and adults, and free concerts and movies in the parks. We are 1.5 hours drive from the beautiful Oregon coast, and 1-2 hours to cross country and downhill skiing. The larger communities of Eugene and Medford are a quick and easy 1-hour drive, and have airports with short direct flights to major western/central US cities. Roseburg has an excellent and rapidly growing wine industry. We have a superb community college that has an enology and vintner program. The public schools are good (many public school students have gone on to Ivy League colleges), and there are multiple private school options. You will not find a better community in which to raise a family or enjoy nature. The cost of living is low, and compensation is high.
Board certified or board eligible MD/DO ophthalmologist. Must have the ability to be credentialed with government and other third party payers. Must be eligible to obtain Oregon state medical licensure.
