Job DescriptionPackaging Assistant, Part TimeHearst Midwest Media has immediate openings for part-time Packaging Assistants at its Big Rapids printing facility. Hearst Michigan Newspapers prints four dailies and weeklies owned by Hearst as well as a variety of commercial printing. We are seeking reliable individuals with a strong work ethic - on time, consistent attendance, and good communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Manual operation of newspaper packaging machine which includes bending and twisting
- Adheres to production schedules and deadlines
- Assists with stacking printed products onto pallets or into carts
- Performs daily housekeeping of Packaging areas
- Opportunity for training on the press.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills
- Willingness to work in several different departments doing various duties.
- Self-motivated and ability to multitask
- Strong follow-up on assigned tasks
- Basic computer skills - data entry, etc.
