Job Description SummaryManage the global packaging cost out program for Onshore Wind. Lead and develop packaging solutions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost of goods and services to and from internal and/or external customers/suppliers. Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities:In this role the Packaging Cost Out Leader will:Assess packaging of inbound shipments to GE Global factories to identify Cost Out ProjectsPrioritize, Develop, Lead and Implement Cost out projects associated with packaging of GE materialsManage Reusable skid program. Resolve issue and implement continuous improvements as needed.Liaise with Sourcing, Material Management, Logistics Operations, Sourcing Quality and Engineering as needed to assure all functional requirements regarding packaging are metTrack costs regarding packaging improvement projects, including but not limited to Logistics costs, package material costs, and factory handling costs. Validate costs estimates with FinanceConduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective actions regarding any component damage attributable to packaging.Collaborate with Direct Material Sourcing and Logistics sourcing to negotiate revised pricing based on packaging changesLeverage Packaging best practices across all of GE Renewable Energy's global factoriesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from accredited college or universityMinimum of 5 years relevant experience in Supply ChainDesired Characteristics:Experience in logistics and/or sourcing functionsAbility to react quickly in a cross-functional, fast-paced, high volume roleThe salary range for this position is $ 115,100.00 - 191,900.00 USD Annual . The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this role has variable compensation incentive of 15%.
