JOB OVERVIEW:

The Turlock Plant is seeking a Packaging Department Lead for our Raw/Finished Goods area to join our winning team. They will be accountable for monitoring the operation and workflow of the Packaging Area during the shift, including the following jobs: Auto Scales Operations, Packaging Production Recorder, Case Former Operations, and General Laborer duties. Has working knowledge of all positions and can fill in as needed to perform those job duties. Reports directly to the Dept. Team Leader. Notify Team Lead when any operational or personnel problems exists. Meet production demands of the Packaging Area.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of management, responsible for leading peers within assigned areas, communicating the daily work plan, to include the assignment of individual tasks, leading the workflow, and assuring assigned work is completed in an accurate and timely manner. Assist with the training of employees to ensure they understand the duties, equipment, inventory, and requirements for the area assigned. Under the direction of management, leads and coordinates the cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, to include accurate maintenance of cleaning records of sanitation performance. Assists in the documentation and maintenance of work records, to track daily productivity accomplishments to ensure company goals, schedules, deadlines, and standards are met. At management's request, provides feedback regarding the performance of peers within assigned areas. Assists and leads in ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements involving food and worker safety. Follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), policies and procedures, and safety procedures while performing all job duties. Adhere to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by supervisor/manager.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Position requires a minimum of 2 years' experience in the responsibilities of the area assigned and requires progressively responsible experience in troubleshooting and leading workflow. Work consists of high levels of analytical, evaluative, and constructive thinking. Packaging operational skills desirable. Basic computer and math skills are required. Requires concentration and strong attention to detail. Must have the ability to prioritize effectively and work accurately in a timely and efficient manner. Capable or working in a fast paced environment. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to work under limited supervision. Expected to anticipate and identify problems related to normal business operations and choose appropriate responses based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work schedules. Must have basic math skills. Work consists of a wide range of tasks requiring a high level of problem-solving skills that result in solutions from several alternatives. Must help maintain product quality while meeting output standards. Must be able to work overtime as necessary.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in food processing and lean manufacturing is highly desired. Practical experience in leading peers in daily tasks/assignments is an advantage, but not required.

Educational Requirements:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
