Job Description – Packaging & Compliance Engineer

Educational Qualification: Graduate \ Postgraduate in Packaging Engineering \ Certified Packaging specialist with on hand experience in Automotive components packaging & compliance.

Work Experience: 7+ Years of working experience in Automotive parts packaging & compliance. Preferably from Auto OEM – Trucks segment.

Job Responsibilities

1. Design and develop safe, sturdy, transit-worthy (Domestic & Export) and cost-effective packaging for the Automobile components through IT-enables solutions like PackIT.

2. Creating packaging related SOPs and Work Instructions

3. Support validation of structural analysis, test methods, design simulations, feasibility trials

4. Collaborate with Logistics team and support in defining the packaging instructions and compliance requirements as per the business requirement within the given timelines

5. Creating packaging material drawings and specifications for each new packaging material

6. Support Quality improvement

7. Good understanding on Global regulatory changes. Understand and updating of packaging requirements for both Export & Import as per latest regulations.

8. Coordinate with Component Manufacturers approvals on new packaging instructions

9. Support the documentation with request summary including tasks required and Engineering to be performed

Competencies / Skills Technical/ Functional:

1. Domain knowledge of packaging design and operation processes for export and domestic requirements.

2. Ability to understand technical and compliance requirements for set-up of Packaging operation shop & to evaluate current packaging methodology and supplier proposals

3. Hands-on experience on creating instructions for packing / unpacking methods

4. Onhand experience in using Packaging tools \ applications.

5. Knowledge of various types of corrugated packaging materials like cartons, pads etc., alternate of plastic packaging, steel cases, wooden cases and containers.

6. Ability to effectively communicate specific requirements with suppliers and monitor the overall packaging development

7. Strategic Thinking & Strong execution orientation and problem-solving approach
