Job Description

Coordinate and oversee the tactical items (audits/quality complaints/training/etc.) of a manufacturing department according to established procedures, standards and customer requirements.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. Works in conjunction with the Department Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
  • Ensures customer complaints are investigated; corrective actions are implemented and evaluated for effectiveness according to established standards. This includes staff involvement and communication of the issues to crews.
  • Provide quality trending information to the Department Manager for any improvement initiatives required.
  • Support internal quality feedback program in department with the shift supervisors.
  • Manage quality and EHS audits and follow-up actions in the department.
  • Manage the QA Hold Area (direct ship setouts; retain management; etc.).
  • Ensures that production standards are maintained and bi-annually updated to manage variances and scheduling issues.
  • Ensures that Best Practice teams related to process discipline have appropriate representation. Implements changes based on recommendations of the BP team where applicable.
  • Ensures that accurate Standard Operating Conditions (SOC's) are in place and followed. Maintains productivity standards based on SOC's, best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Supervises hourly support staff within the department. Is responsible for all elements of supervision including hiring, terminations, recognition, discipline, training, employee relations and performance management.
  • Lead onboarding of new hires within the department
  • Manage job profile, work instruction and OPL creation/revisions and operator/assistant qualification tracking.
  • Maintain the department Action Item Register. Lead weekly meeting with assigned resources to obtain updates and estimated completion dates.
  • Provide support to the department manager for following up on critical items for daily success.
  • Lead and provide tactical support for information and data improvements within the department.
  • Lead targeted Continuous Improvement efforts concerning (rapid improvement teams; Kaizen; 5S; etc.) for the department.
  • Adheres to Amcor's values and actively contributes to a high-performance culture.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • A Bachelor's degree with emphasis on a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years supervisory/leadership experience
