Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Packaging Machine Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on Week Night Shift
As a Packaging Machine Operator, this candidate will be responsible for supplying production lines with packaging materials, transporting skids of finished product to warehouse, as well as operating barrel filling lines, rod machine and labelers. This position works Sunday-Wednesday 5:55 PM - 5:55 AM.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepares machine for start of production and makes adjustments when packaging different products.
* Loads hand cart with rolls of packaging.
* Lifts rolls of film onto machine.
* Loosens bag former with wrench and adjusts it to appropriate former.
* Changes code blocks to appropriate daily and weekly code and price.
* Sets up form and fill machine to ensure bag integrity.
* Programs scales for product flow, vibration of machine and weight of bag.
* Fixes gram weight of bag to appropriate setting.
* Operates barrel labelers and barrel filling machines.
* Starts and stops power to the machine, vibrator and conveyor.

* Changes rolls of packaging and code tape as necessary.
* Judges speed of machine necessary to keep production on schedule.
* Sweeps packing room floor continually throughout the day.
* Must possess the ability required to run assigned machines efficiently and minimize downtime.
* Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
* Works in a safe manner at all times and communicates any safety issues to supervisor.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
* Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
* Requires knowledge and skills of a barrel filling lines, rod machine and labelers.
* Able to lift a minimum of 80lbs.
* Required forklift license.
* Required to wear non-slip shoes and appropriate personal protective equipment.
