Job Description SummaryResponsible for the labeling, inspecting and packaging of final container products with manual and/or automated packaging systems. Operates equipment that packages materials or products by inserting them into containers or filling containers from spouts or chutes. May perform other packaging tasks including placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, putting manuals into binders, counting and sorting various items, and forming or breaking down boxes for final product. May also set-up, change-over and operate labeling and packaging equipment. Responsible for data entry and imprinting computer generated labels. May perform or assist in final check of completed documents for completeness and accuracy. Become a maker of possible with us.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for packaging materials in accordance with standard manufacturing procedures (SMP) and standard operating procedures (SOP) including equipment set-up, equipment clean-up and documentation of such processFilling, assembling, labeling and inspecting under little/no supervisionMay be responsible for maintaining accuracy in weighing materials per the correct SMP and SOP weight tolerancesMust be a good communicator within the manufacturing team to effectively define status of product or process between shifts either orally or with the use of written status reportsMay be responsible for moving required materials from defined storage or staging areas to workspace using material handling equipmentDemonstrates ability to set-up, operate and clean production equipment including weighing scales, hand-filling equipment, Integrated Fill Lines (IFL), bagging equipment and shrink-wrap equipmentMaintains accurate production records, which include operation/cleaning logs, batch history records, label reconciliation, work order information and other pertinent dataUses independent judgment in troubleshooting and problem solving under little/no supervisionConduct minor equipment repairs and identify and resolve equipment problemsProvides support to lead and/or supervisor when necessaryMay provide training support for on-boarding and/or new proceduresMay provide support on special projectsDemonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and proceduresMust follow all BD safety policies and proceduresMust be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirementsPerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Education/Experience:High School degree required with 2 years manufacturing or warehouse experience required. Experience in a regulated environment required.Basic Skills:Ability to work on assignments that are manual and routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specificationMust be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically on a personal computerMust be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changesProficient/Working Skills:Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmeticBasic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of Windows environment is requiredUse independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solveMust be able to work in a repetitive work environment and be able to stand for long periods of timeForklift license may be required for this positionFor certain roles at BD, employment is contingent upon the Company's receipt of sufficient proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
