Benefits Available!Weekly Pay! $20.00/Hour Shift Details: 1:30PM-12:00AMDESCRIPTION:To stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approvedpackaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocolsComplete appropriatepackaging documentation per FDA, ISO, and GMP procedures and deliver products toinventory.Job FunctionsFill, cap, and label chemical productsUse electronic balances to properly weigh materials.Manually fill liquids or powdersSet up and utilize semi-automated equipment to fill liquids or powdersPerform routine cleaning to semi-automated equipmentPerform fills in environmentally controlled areasFill hazardous productsUtilize pumps to transfer bulk solutions.Filter bulk materials using pumps and in-line filters or vacuum filtersManually torque caps with wrenchesSet up and operate semi-automated cappersHand label as necessarySet up and operate automated labelersAssist with loading bottles and pack-off during fill line operationsPack kits according to procedures.Use material handling equipment safely to transport materials throughout thebuilding.Clean laboratory glassware and batch tanks.Follow all quality and safety proceduresSupport quality systemsFollow safety procedures at all timesDon, doff, use, and clean PPEFollow Good Documentation PracticesDocument all equipment used and verify calibration statusBe familiar with hazards common to assigned work and take action to correct unsafesituationsParticipate in required safety activities such as training sessions, meetings, anddocumentationDevelop and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideasComply with the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001Participate in 6S activitiesMaintain good housekeeping and audit readinessStrategic ImpactScope of People ResponsibilityFollow Merck Code of Conduct and work well with team members on the floor to meetdepartmental goals.CooperationInternally ExtCandidate's ProfileEducationRequires High School diploma or GED equivalent.Work ExperienceAt least 3 months chemical weighing, related laboratory, filling or packaging experience ispreferred.Minimum of 3 months experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment is desirable.Job specific Competencies & SkillsBasic math-including metrics and conversionsBasic computer skillsKnowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP's, UOP'sHand-eye coordinationGood written and oral communication skillsLegible handwritingStrong mechanical aptitudeGood interpersonal skillsAbility to problem solveAbility to use hand toolsAble to occasionally lift 50 lbs.ADDITIONAL LOCAL NEEDS:Extended periods of standing and repetitive movementsWorking with and in proximity ofhazardous chemicals and human source materials.While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is exposed to fumes orairborne particles and reactive, toxic or caustic conditionsThe employee occasionally isexposed to extreme, non-weather related cold and heat, wet humid conditions, and vibration.The employee may work near moving mechanical partsThe noise level in the workenvironment may be loud.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, reachabove the shoulders, use feet to operate equipment and stoop, kneel, twist, crouch or crawl.The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle materials and operate tools andequipment and standThe employee may be required to wear an air helmet, mask, safetyshoes, apron rubber and tyvek suits, protect gloves, and safety glasses and goggles whileperforming in this positionThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
