Structured as a matrix organization of six geographical regions and ten platforms, Louis Dreyfus Company is active in over 100 countries and employs approximately 17,000 people globally.Job DescriptionOverall Purpose and Objective of Position: The Packaging Operator is responsible for filling totes / drums with various liquids, and responsible for complying with all applicable company standards and government regulations.Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Comply with company and food safety policiesReceive/unload packaging supplies with a forklift and regularly unload drums manually without a forkliftFill or empty glycerin, canola, and lecithin tanks using computerized controls and following standard operating proceduresCreate accurate labels, print labels, and label drums, totes, and samplesPrint accurate shipping paperwork and ensure that it is sent with the correct packagesFill containers with glycerin, canola, lecithin, or other (sometimes mixing additives), using computerized controls and scalesUse a forklift to move containers and load trucks with the correct packaged material and accurate shipping paperworkConduct inventory audits of packaged products & materials; notify the packaging supervisor of low quantitiesInspect packaging equipment and report any issuesRespond to equipment issues or alarms; investigate and initiate resolutionsAccurately complete all required operational and food safety documentationAdditional Responsibilities:New products or product containers might be added to our product line for packaging at any timeEnsure work area is kept clean and free of safety hazardsComplete all required training tasks as assigned in EHS or by the Packaging SupervisorAttend and participate in safety and general meetings when scheduled or requestedExperienceHigh school diploma/GEDValid driver's licenseKnowledge of manufacturing processes and proceduresAbility to operate machinery and computer control systems while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g., OSHA (including PSM), EPA, USDA, and ISO 9000Ability to drive a forklift, climb stairs and ladders as well as work at heights; manage confined space entry, withstand extended periods of walking and standing; move manufacturing materials, products and equipment of 50 pounds or more which requires regular bending and liftingMechanical aptitude, effective communication skills, basic math and fundamental PC skillsExperience in receiving/shipping and knowledge of LDC liquid process controls preferredWhat We OfferWe provide a dynamic and stimulating international environment, which will stretch and develop your abilities and channel your skills and expertise with outstanding career development opportunities in one of the largest and most solid private companies in the world.- Comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental and vision care coverage, flexible spending account plans, employee assistance program, life insurance and disability coverage- 401k with Company Match- Family Friendly Benefits including childbirth and parental leave, fertility and family building benefits- Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays- Hybrid work available (not applicable to all roles)Diversity & InclusionLDC is driven by a set of shared values and high ethical standards, with diversity and inclusion being part of our DNA.
