Job Description:
**$2,000 Sign-On Bonus!** *2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm (Mon-Fri) (Shift Differential = 6% of hourly wage) *Training occurs on 1st Shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm, Mon - Fri *All levels of experience, pay based on experience *On the Job Training - No Experience Necessary *Must be comfortable wearing respirator, as needed Position Overview: The Packaging Operator is responsible for transferring product from bulk packaging containers, transporting material with powered pallet jacks, packaging into bags, and palletizing. Typical processing duties include transporting materials, operating bag or pail packaging lines, weighing bulk product, recording run numbers, applying labels, reading a scale, and transcribing information onto lists and labels. Additional responsibilities may include sanitation (cleaning) and raw material screening. Essential Job Functions:
  • Transfer product from bulk to small containers.
  • Apply container labels and validate label/lot information.
  • Record product information on in-process labels such as material name, lot number, weight, etc.
  • Stage material and/or equipment for processing.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Verify tasks performed by other personnel, including weight checks, calculations, critical process steps, etc.
  • May be occasionally required to operate a forklift depending on material handling requirements. (Forklift training/certification to be administered by CPI.)
  • Follow all CPI safety and cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
  • Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and conversions.
  • Basic understanding of the purpose/contents of Material Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) preferred.
  • Knowledge of various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available and how/when to use it.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, write (legibly), and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient performance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and co-workers.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and move objects with vacuum lift assist.
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack.
  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time.
  • Ability to use a half-mask positive pressure respirator by providing a proper seal.
