Job Type: Full-timePay: $24-$28 per hourLocation: St. Gabriel, LASummary of Position: The position of packagingoperator requires our employees to be able to stand for 10.5 hours minimumevery day that they are scheduled to work. During the day, they will beinvolved filling powders into 25 lb. bags, sealing those bags, checking theseals, and checking the weights of the pallets. This work is performed in adusty environment where the operator must wear a dust mask. This is veryrigorous work that involves continuous lifting of these bags throughout the dayand repetitive motion. Once the pallets are stacked, they are moved to awrapping station where they are secured with plastic wrap. This positionrequires the employee to be able to feed a cardboard wrap around the pallet ona continual basis and to occasionally change the empty spool for a full roll ofplastic wrap which requires the assistance of a second person to move the fullroll into place. In addition, our operators are involved in housekeeping choresin the plant which require the ability to move buckets of product weighing up to90-100 lbs with assistance. Also, they are involved in recycling reject bagsback into the system. Again, this is a repetitive motion job that requirescontinuous lifting of these bags to be able to recycle them back into thesystem. Tasks Required: Throughout the course ofan operator's employment with Brown Eagle they may be required to attend to anyor all the following tasks: ? Always keep the Bag Table Stocked With 200-300 bags. ? Position the full bags (weighing up to 25lbs each) intothe sealer every 15-20 seconds ? Alternately, check every other seal and every other lotcode. ? Lift and shake every 15th bag (weighing up to 25lbseach) in order to verify the bag's manufacturer'sseals are good. ? Pull eight bags (weighing up to 25lbs each) from theline every 15 minutes to verify weights and record statistical data in regardto the weights of the bags. ? Palletize 45 bags (weighing up to 25lbs each) to apallet (up to 20 pallets/each operator involved in palletizing. ? Move finished pallets to the stretch wrap station bymeans of forklift. (This position requires the operator to climb in and out offorklift several times every day and the ability to endure the jostling of theforklift as pallets are moved from one location to another.) ? Keep the stretch wrap equipment stocked with stretchwrap and cardboard wrap. ? Feed the cardboard wrap for 30-40 different pallets ? Apply Product ID Labels, DOT Labels, and InventoryLabels to each pallet ? Alert Operators of any situation (i.e., mechanical,inventory, etc.) which may cause production downtime. ? Ability to conduct product changeover safely,efficiently and accurately to reduce production downtime to a minimum. ?
