SCHEDULE – This position is 40 hours per week. APPROX hours are 4:00 PM – 3:00 AM. This is an hourly position.OVERVIEW OF JOB RESPONSIBILTIIES – This is position is responsible for supervising the packaging department in conjunction with the assistant supervisor. It is expected that knowledge of all equipment and maintenance requirements has been attained. This position is responsible for training and supervising packaging employees, assigning staff to handle work flow and limit overtime, insuring accuracy of zoning, overseeing use and maintenance of all packaging equipment, unloading and storage of inserts and supplies, managing supply inventory, training departmental employees in safety practices, building a sense of pride and teamwork within the department, keeping work areas clean and organized and find solutions for improving work flow. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Some newspaper experience, mechanical experience, ability to communicate in English, both written and orally and having demonstrated an ability to manage. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – Previous newspaper packaging managerial experience, current certification in use of forklifts, operable vehicle, valid Wyoming driver's license and proof of auto insurance.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -- A culture of collaboration and empowerment is maintained.

- Climb, stoop, stand, kneel and crawl to access and work in irregular spaces on and around industrial equipment
- Work for prolonged periods with inks and other chemicals
- Ability to adapt to change, address potential problems and suggest possible solutions
- Accept written and verbal direction from Packaging Manager and Production Director.
- Work a variable schedule.
- Support Packaging Supervisor in all activities
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS – Other duties as assigned by Packaging Manager or DirectorWORK ENVIRONMENT – Packaging employees work in an industrial setting that includes exposure to dust, chemicals and noise. Personal protective equipment is provided and recommended for use.
