SUMMARY:
The Packaging Specialist is responsible for organizing and monitoring administrative, product and project related tasks within the Packaging Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Adds and updates all logo and art files to the PLM Digital Asset folder and packaging component folders.
* Proofs artwork created by graphics and from nominated printers.
* Sends artwork files to suppliers, both international and domestic.
* Proofs packaging tech packs assigned to styles in PLM database.
* Reviews and approves sales and pre-production samples and communicates daily with factories to resolve questions or issues.
* Sets up and maintains files by season, brand, and customer of printed PLM style tech packs.
* Sets up and maintains packaging brand books with new and updated artwork and printed samples.
* Assigns packaging components and put-up assemblies to styles in PLM database.
* Determines packaging sizes and materials to meet marketing and production criteria.
* Develops packaging methods.
* Assigns packaging materials (labels, swiftach, hangers, balers, prepack cases).
* Assists in designing new packaging concepts.
* Adds BOM to new styles created.
* Adds work instructions to new styles created.
* Updates and maintains styles in PLM when changes are made.
* Creates and maintains work instruction templates in Excel.
* Performs additional duties as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
* Four-year, college degree in graphics, design, fashion, or product development or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* Three years of relevant experience preferred.
* Experience within the Fashion industry is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
* Proficiency with using various measurement devices, such as tape measure and gauges.
* Understands and can navigate using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or similar.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of PLM or similar systems helpful.
* Knowledge of customers' protocol requirements and systems.
* Knowledge of regulatory laws and requirements as applicable to product and packaging.
* Ability to openly share ideas and effectively communicates cross functionally.
* Excellent brand aesthetic sense for composition and color matching.
* Willingness to adapt and an inherent drive for a saleable product.
* Strong proofreading skills.
* Strong English writing skills.

* Frequently required to sit, talk, listen and reach with hands and arms to operate a computer and phone.
* Occasionally required to walk, stand, bend, and stoop in order to pull files from a standing file cabinet, place files in a cabinet and lift/move boxes of packaging materials.
* Frequently required to use vision to inspect packaging materials for correct number, colors and format.
* Occasionally required to push and lift bins that weigh up to 25 pounds.
* Consistent daily attendance required; occasional off-shift support required.
* Occasionally required to travel to multiple work sites.
