What We're Looking For:We are currently hiring a Packaging Supervisor. As a Packaging Supervisor you would be overseeing the packaging operations in accordance with company policy, while ensuring everything is done in a safe and cost-effective manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scheduling of personnel and material resources for production.
- Ensure all Safety Rules and Procedures are followed.
- Maintain inventory on poly, box cases, pallets, slip sheets.
- Tracing of repack production items.
- Set up and verify shop orders for repack.
- Manage print shop and dry warehouse employees, including department process management, duty delegation and monitoring performance standards.
- Work with corporate sales and QA departments to send samples of cases or poly, as requested.
- Coordinate corrective actions relating to defective/substandard packaging materials.
- Preform investigations for safety occurrences or non-conformances.
- Run start up meetings with the entire crew before the start of the shift.
- Run Daily management meeting with the leadership team reporting on previous days issues and countermeasures that need to be taken to improve.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
- Five years of experience in a production plant environment with administration and supervisory experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel required and Infor software preferred.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, peers, and subordinates.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position directly supervises the print shop; dry warehouse and packaging floor lead employees (approximately 80 employees).Personal Competencies Required:

Essential Physical Abilities:The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a range of arm movements necessary to operate a personal computer and related office equipment; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, occasionally required to stand, stoop, crouch, walk and balance.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work near moving mechanical equipment.
