About the Role - Packaging Supervisor:

Summary: The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for assisting Managements run of day-to-day preparations, filling and finished product handling processes at the cultivation and processing facility. The successful candidate will be an effective leader who possesses a passion for product manufacture/packaging, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to continually learn more to help educate her / his team.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include the following, other duties may be assigned): The main responsibility of the Packaging Supervisor is to assist the oversight of day-to-day operations of the Final Processing/Packaging department, ensuring consistent compliance with all regulations and the highest levels of safety and cleanliness inside the processing, packaging, and distribution areas.

  • Coordinates with Management to ensure accurate Product Conversions, Potency Label Creation
  • Collaborates with Management to meet production goals and to make sure the processing & packaging environment is clean and compliant with current manufacturing guidelines and SOPs.
  • Supervises daily processing & packaging operations, with a focus on efficiency, precision, and quality.
  • Supervise and implement operation, maintenance, cleaning, adjustment, and repairs of processing & packaging equipment.
  • Supervises the compliance of Standard Operating Procedures for processing & packaging equipment as well as handling production batches and all materials associated with finished products.
  • Supervises the compliance of Standard Operating Procedures for the production and packaging of manufactured goods.
  • Supervises and coaches technicians to ensure quality standards and production goals are met.
  • Maintain material safety data sheets for all solvents, chemicals, and products.
  • Maintain Inventory Records and Batch Records for all filling, packaging, and distribution of all products moving into and out of the vault.
  • Supervise storage and use of compressed gases used in production, solvents, supplies, and equipment according to guidelines.
  • Ensures consumable inventory levels are replenished regularly to avoid disruptions to production & packaging.
  • Records and reports KPI data to management on a regular basis. Provides suggestions and recommendations for additional data collection and internal performance benchmarks for the team.
  • Fosters a positive work environment for her / his team; following staff schedules and assigning work and task responsibilities to meet or exceed production.
  • Partners with Management to follow policies & procedures to guide the daily operations and fully comply with all state medical marijuana regulations and OSHA requirements.
  • Coordinates with Management to execute a cleaning and maintenance schedule for all manufacturing areas and extraction equipment as required by procedures and manufacturer specs, ensuring no disruption to production.
  • Coordinates with Management to prepare and manifest samples on a regular basis to ensure regular testing for quality, consistency and efficacy.
  • Positively responds to teams questions, concerns and suggestions and takes immediate action as necessary to resolve conflicts.

Skills to be Successful (minimum qualifications):

Education Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma preferred College degree in applicable field.
  • 2 + years experience in a warehouse/ industrial assembly line environment preferred
  • Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges.

Required Knowledge

  • Proficient in terms of operating computer & office equipment (Google Suite; Sheets, Docs, Drive. Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Office Equipment; Copiers, Printers, Telephone Systems).
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
  • Proficient in Math required for inventory, projections, and measurements.
  • Experience complying with GMP Standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to spend an extended time standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet.
  • Close visual focus required.
  • This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.

Must be minimum 21 years of age and pass state and federal background checks (state mandated).

  • Monday - Friday - Core Hours 6am - 3pm

Production environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, safety is paramount. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The job is performed indoors in a traditional warehouse like setting. Exposure to heat, bright lights and organic chemicals is expected. Protective safety clothing, shoes, glasses, goggles, gloves, facemasks, or hat may be required to be worn.

Manufacturing environment that requires extended time standing, walking, bending and reaching. Ability to carry up to 50lbs for up to a distance of up to 100ft may be required. Occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Ability to work in a humid and pollinated environment.?
