Join our dynamic team as a Packaging Technician, where your skills and passion will contribute to our commitment to quality and innovation. Under minimal supervision, you will operate and troubleshoot a variety of packaging equipment, including fillers, cappers, and complex labelers. You will play a key role in bottling production, ensuring the care, maintenance, and sanitation of all equipment and facilities. Your dedication to safety procedures and adherence to GMP standards will support our high-quality production goals.

In this role, you will lead production lines, communicate effectively with team members and operations leads, and perform daily record-keeping and sample-taking. Your ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently will help us meet or exceed production targets. You'll also assist with changeovers and maintain a clean, organized, and food safety-compliant work area. General housekeeping duties and maintaining a sanitary environment are essential aspects of this position.

Your responsibilities will include routine production reporting, quality checks, and ensuring compliance with E & J Gallo Winery's sustainability policies. These policies emphasize economically viable, socially acceptable, and environmentally sound practices, such as conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling. Your situational awareness and sense of urgency for safety, quality, and productivity will be critical on the production floor.

Effective communication with team members, leadership, and other departments is essential. Consistent attendance and timeliness are required, along with a thorough understanding of quality, environmental, and safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 or more years' experience in wine production or manufacturing.
  • Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar operations.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift and uncase glass cases onto a conveyer belt.
  • Required to work any assigned shift (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary.
  • Required to wear a respirator when necessary.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Required to comply with company GMP policies.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience showing versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Experience in using a computer.
  • Experience being a team player.
  • Experience understanding and following written and verbal instructions.
  • Skilled in basic mathematical operations.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $22.95 - $31.00 / hour
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
