**Packaging Technician - (East Durham, NY)**

Seeking a dedicated and hardworking **Packaging Technician** to join our growing team in East Durham, NY. As a part of one of North America's largest providers of specialty oral healthcare products-such as Sensodyne, Paradontax, Polident, and Aquafresh-you'll play a crucial role in producing over 5 million tubes of toothpaste per week.

**Position Overview:** The Packaging Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment, ensuring finished products are properly packaged and ready for shipment. The role involves hands-on, repetitive tasks, including feeding packaging lines with toothpaste tubes, monitoring the production process, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

**Shift & Pay:**

+ **Shift:** 12-hour shifts (Days - C Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)

+ Schedule: 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off (every other weekend off)

+ **Pay:** $ 22.50/hour

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ **Tube Flipping:** You will be responsible for flipping boxes of empty toothpaste tubes onto the packaging line, supporting the automated filling process.

+ **Safety & Quality Checks:** Conduct routine safety assessments and quality checks on finished products. Report any discrepancies or issues as required.

+ **Equipment Setup & Maintenance:** Perform basic machine setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operation.

+ **Documentation & Computer Use:** Accurately log and report packaging line data using computer and scanning equipment.

+ **Continuous Improvement:** Participate in initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, and efficiency within the department.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

+ Conduct line clearances, changeovers, and line cleaning.

+ Perform root cause analysis for packaging line downtime and equipment failures.

+ Operate electric pallet jacks and fork trucks for material movement.

+ Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

**Qualifications:**

+ **Required:** Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days or nights) with alternating weekends off.

+ **Preferred:** High school diploma and experience in manufacturing or production environments.

**Pay Details:** $22.50 per hour
