We sell our branded and private label sugars, sweeteners and syrups in the grocery, food service, industrial and pharmaceutical channels in the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia.POSITION SCOPEThe Packaging Technician operates, installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles packaging equipment and related equipment.Responsibilities/DutiesPreforms preventative maintenance workMonitors equipment operations and makes adjustments and/or repairs (mechanical and/or electrical) on various types of packaging and related equipment such as but not limited to baggers, case erectors, case sealers, packers, etc. as necessaryReports to Supervisor the general condition of equipment and recommends replacement when necessaryInstalls and dismantles packaging and related equipmentOperates various packaging equipmentResponsible for machine and work area cleanlinessResponsible for keeping required records and documentationPerforms other duties as may be assignedRequired SkillsAbility to:start the machine and observe the operation to detect malfunction(s) of the machinetroubleshoot and repair packaging machine problems with competent speed and accuracy under time and delivery pressurework from electrical schematics, blueprints, drawings, sketches, layout, and other specifications both verbal and writtenprogram and maintain coder systems, metal detectors, and check weigherssquare, lace, replace, and track all types of conveyor beltsalign, tension, and replace all types of power transmission devices (v-belts, sheaves, chain and sprockets, bearings)utilize his/her tools and equipment in a safe and proficient mannerMust be able to:work within precise limits and standards of accuracyset up and operates shop toolsuse all power and hand tools normal to the tradeperform simple metal workRequired ExperienceAt least two (2) years of electrical experience working with voltages up to 480 or more in a manufacturing / industrial environmentMust have knowledge and use of electrical test equipmentMust have electrical skills including the understanding and the ability to troubleshoot up to 480 volt equipmentMust have a working knowledge of electrical circuits and power supplies, gearboxes, motors, agitators, actuators, valves, wiring and unwiring of equipmentPreferred ExperiencePrevious Packaging Technician experienceJourneyperson electricianPLC troubleshooting experienceFanuc robotic controllersExperience in hydraulic and pneumatic fieldsRequired EducationHigh school diploma or GEDRequired QualificationsAbility to:lift up to 50lbsuse hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and toolswalk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, and climb constantly throughout the shiftreach, bend, twist, rotate, push and pull frequentlywork in confined spaceswork independently as well as a team playerclimb up and down laddersMust be fully qualified on the operations of at least two packaging stations within 90 days from date of hireAbility to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtimeMust be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.Must regard safety as a core value; Must be able to work safe and in a proficient mannerEqual Opportunity EmployerOur Company is an equal opportunity employer.
