Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitors equipment operations and performs mechanical repairs and adjustments as necessaryInspects and replaces pneumatic and hydraulic hosesDiagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic malfunction(s)Diagnoses and repairs circuit and component issuesInstalls and dismantles packaging and related equipmentReports the general condition of equipment and recommends replacement when necessary to supervisorResponsible for:setup, start-up, and operation of packaging machinesminor and major adjustments before start-up and during operationcompleting and keeping required packaging reports, logs, and other paperworkrequisitioning materials and partspreventive maintenancemachine and work area cleanlinessPerforms other duties as may be assignedJob RequirementsMust be able to respond with troubleshooting methods under time and delivery pressureMust be able to work from blueprints, electronic schematic diagrams, block diagrams, layouts or other specifications both verbal and writtenMust be able to program and maintain coder systemMust be able to perform repairs and tests on mechanical packaging equipment such as clutch assemblies, gear head motors, reduction drive units and high pressure glue pumpsMust be able to perform minor and major adjustments to machinesMust have basic computer skillsMust have electrical, electronics, pneumatics, and welding skills and experienceMust be willing to work nights, weekends, rotating shifts, holidays and overtime as neededMust be able to work in loud production environmentsMust be able to work in extreme temperaturesMust be thoroughly knowledgeable of measurement and weighing systemsMust be 18 years of age or olderMust have strong knowledge of packaging equipment and packaging process or mechanical aptitudeMust have a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiencyMust have strong knowledge of Food Safety, Regulatory, and Good Manufacturing PracticesMust be able to work in a safe and proficient mannerMust be able to work independently as well as a team playerMust be certified to operate a forklift and other mobile industrial equipmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to 50lbs frequentlyMust be able to reach and use arms in a repetitive motion frequentlyMust be able to stand and walk constantly, bend and stoop occasionallyMust be able to work in confined spacesMust be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.Education and/or ExperienceAt least two years consistent work history as a mechanic in a manufacturing environmentHigh School diploma or GED is required.#J-18808-Ljbffr
