Position Summary : The Packer I plays critical role in working as a team to pack customer materials so they arrive on time and damage free. Essential Functions:
Packs Customer Merchandise Carefully lifts, pushes, and places customer equipment/materials inside of TransPak manufactured crates using hand trucks, pallet jacks, ladders, or ramps in order to ship customer equipment/materials without damage to customer equipment/materials. Assembles Crates Unloads, prepares, and completes assembly of the crate at TransPak facility site if not already assembled using hammers, cordless nail guns, or power drills; this includes nailing or hammering on tops or sides of wooden crates to the base or neighboring sides depending on production schedule. May assist with other crate assembly tasks as production schedule permits, as needed. Safe and Efficient Facility Team Member Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use. Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it. Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts. Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures. Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment. Marginal Functions:
- Maintains records of scheduled jobs upon packing
- Communicates with supervisor/dispatch on completion of jobs
Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
- 3 to 6 months prior packaging and/or assembly experience required
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Able to operate pallet jacks, hand-truck to move heavy materials or product
- Spatial awareness and attention to detail in packing and securing materials onto crate with care to avoid damage to customer product as instructed
- Work independently or in teams with minimal supervision
- Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions
PAY:$19/hr
