Job Description: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Evaluate raw materials for best quality and edible properties.
- Prepare specialty items such as links and ground meats per order.
- Utilize wrapping and packaging equipment to prepare items for shipment.
- Work with facility mechanical staff to ensure that all storage areas are functioning according to Weis Markets, USDA, and local regulations and maintain internal temperatures.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation requirements set forth by the company and mandated state, federal, USDA, and OSHA regulations.
- Ensures compliance to local, state, and government weights, measures, and labeling laws.
- Responsible for utilization of all Weis Markets provided Personal Protective equipment (PPE). Including but not limited to cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, company sponsored footwear, etc.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This associate has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Completion or working towards High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
