Scenic Bouquet Company is a local grower and distributor of high quality cut flowers. We're currently looking for a Packing Team Member.JOB SUMMARY: Part Time warehouse positionSCHEDULE:Monday and one to two other days per week. 8 am till finish (typically between 1:30 and 4pm). May be asked to start at 7 am on occasion.Additional shifts will be necessary the weeks leading up to Floral holidays and long weekends.Work as required on Saturdays before Valentines Day and Mother's Day.DUTIES:Work with the packing team to pack premade bouquets and consumer bunches into boxes and onto pallets for distribution.Box erecting, taking pails off of a conveyor belt, into a pail sleeve and into a box.Box labelling and putting through an automatic taper.Box stacking on a pallet, pallet wrapping.Moving pallets with a hand jack from one location to another.Quality control on the product being handled.Other duties as required; you may be requested to help out in other areas of the building.SKILLS:Good manner.Effective communication (written and verbal), general arithmetic skills.First aid and CPR certification are assets.Time management skills and listening skills.ABILITIES/PERSONAL QUALITIES:Exemplary interpersonal skills.Ability to work with a team or individually.Flexibility in work duties.Previous experience with floral products and/or floral sales an asset.Able to manage and work as a team.High level of personal initiative.Accuracy and attention to detail.Confidentiality.Enjoy challenges.Open minded, unafraid of difference or change.Manages conflict and confrontation tactfully.Honesty and fairness, high ethical standards.Presents self as a role model.Maintains good balance between work and personal life.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Colour vision.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to handle boxes that could weigh up to 50 lbs.Ability to wrap pallets with stretch wrap.Clear and coherent speech.WORKING CONDITIONS:Small warehouse environment.Fully secured warehouse with access control systems and video surveillance.No significant hazards.Part Time.
