JOB TITLE: Paint Assistant Manager
REPORTS TO: Section Manager of Paint
General Summary-
Assist Section Manager in daily duties. Perform detailed and complex job functions (ie. normal course of business activities). Investigate and recommend ways to improve efficiencies of daily job activities.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
* Write process design specifications
* Analyze blue prints and interpret technical data
* Develop engineering plan (control plans, PFMEA's, GED's, etc.)
* Maintain GED accuracy
* Implement engineering plans by evaluating current situations
* Develop machine and tooling specifications
* Monitor capital expenditure budget acquisition and control
* Procure machinery and tooling
* Develop schedule and coordinate activities of machinery and tooling suppliers
* Modify equipment layouts for individual lines, cells, and zones
* Train manufacturing members on new and improved processes
* Perform other duties as assigned in order to ensure achievement of section, department, or company plan
* Ensure all safety policies are maintained and adhere to Lockout/Tagout procedures
* Insure all machines are in compliance with OSHA
* Participate with CFT in VA/VE, DFM/DFA workshops and implement recommendations
* Ensure compliance with Engineering change procedures
* Maintain product structure and routings, etc...
* Assure QS 9000 compliance as it relates to engineering and maintenance
Authority:
* Stop production for safety related issues
* Authorize repair work
* Initiate capability studies
Skills & Abilities Required
* Ability to prioritize work load
* Effective planning and implementation skills
* Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
* Knowledge of machine mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and materials
* Effective trouble-shooting skills
* Strong hands-on ability
* Capable of reading and understanding schematics
* Basic Computer skills
* Four-year degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of OSHA regulations
* Good verbal, written and interpersonal communicational skills required
