Job Summary: Paint Engineer oversees the manual and automated systems for paint coatings and pretreatment to ensure they function in the best way possible while delivering improved results for the customer. Job Responsibilities: Improve Washing/Painting Methods: Develop, evaluate, and refine methods for washing and painting parts to meet quality standards.
- Customer Specifications: be the champion, controlling and ensuring we are meeting requirements across all Ironform facilities
- Waste Water Treatment Systems: Ensure we are conforming to city and state guidelines as it pertains to waste water.
- Boost Production Efficiency: Identify and implement operator methods to increase production rates and efficiency.
- Process Control: Develop and apply process control techniques to manufacturing environments.
- Address Quality Issues: Participate in teams to address and resolve internal and external quality problems with documented corrective actions.
- Supplier Coordination: Work with suppliers to define product specs, arrange purchases, and ensure quality standards.
- Estimate Needs: Help estimate staffing, production times, and costs for operational decisions.
- Maintain ERP/MRP Data: Manage data within ERP/MRP systems.
- Technical Training: Develop and implement technical training for manufacturing employees.
- Process Development: Design and refine manufacturing processes and tooling for new products and improvements, aiming for zero defects and low cost.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate records of methods, tool designs, shop orders, and concepts.
- Engineering Support: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production at all facilities.
- Equipment Specifications: Specify and budget for new equipment and tooling.
- Support Policies: Adhere to company policies and support production system requirements and customer certification programs.
- Perform any and all other engineering assignments as directed
Job Qualifications (Required)
- At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
- 10+ years in manufacturing industry
- 5+ years of experience in Pretreatment and Paint Coatings
- Ability to travel to all Ironform facilities as required.
Job Qualifications (Preferred):
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college.
Physical Requirements of the Job:
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
- Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
- Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
- Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
- Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
- Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
