We are committed to excellence and sustainability in our products and processes. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paint Production Floor Supervisorto join our Manufacturing team. THE ROLE The Paint Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality paint products, leading a team of Paint Makers, and ensuring adherence to precise formulations and manufacturing procedures. As a player-coach, this role involves both supervising the team and actively participating in the production process. The Floor Supervisor operates and maintains various types of equipment, mixes raw materials, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and provides leadership and guidance to the production team. Additionally, this role includes scheduling duties to ensure efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization. This position reports to the Production Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The duties include, but are not limited to the following duties. Other duties may also apply, as necessary.
  • Leadership and Supervision: guide and instruct team members on production procedures and standards, to ensure efficient workflow and productivity. You will monitor work quality and performance, providing constructive feedback, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on growth and development.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the paint production processes for both large & small batch production lines. This includes prioritizing production order to ensure deadlines are met, and monitoring production equipment performance. Active participation in paint production is also expected.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality control team to conduct tests, documenting and reporting any deviations or issues found during production, and work together to address and resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Process Coordination: Coordinate with the production planning team to align activities and staffing with production goals and deadlines. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, report shortages to the Production Manager, procure necessary materials for daily operations, and assist in receiving raw materials as needed.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain daily and weekly staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal productivity.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce adherence to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of safety and modeling safe practices.
  • Communication and Reporting: Serve as the primary contact for the paint making team, facilitating clear communication and addressing operational concerns. Maintain accurate production documentation and provide accurate progress updates.
  • Discipline and Behavior Correction: Monitor floor activities to ensure compliance with company policies, address inappropriate behavior promptly and professionally, and document incidents and corrective actions, reporting to the Production Manager as necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a cooperative work environment by coordinating with team members and departments, delegating responsibilities fairly, and assisting in training new employees on production procedures and safety practices. Lead by example, demonstrating effective work habits and a commitment to quality, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding progress and issues.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized paint production area to ensure high standards of hygiene and operational efficiency. Oversee and participate in routine cleaning and maintenance activities, regularly inspect equipment for maintenance needs, and promptly report malfunctions or breakdowns.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in manufacturing is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in paint manufacturing or a similar production environment
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory or management experience
  • Strong understanding of chemistry and manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of common manufacturing plant safety and operating procedures
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and formulas accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
PHSYICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to operate manufacturing and plant equipment (i.e.: forklift, electric pallet jack, dispensers, etc.)
