We are seeking a skilled and experienced Paint Supervisor with expertise in industrial wet paint and powder coating applications to lead the Finishing Department. The Paint Supervisor will oversee a team of 8-10 employees, ensuring daily operations are executed efficiently, projects meet quality standards, and all safety protocols are followed. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires technical expertise, team management skills, and a strong commitment to excellence. What You'll Do:
  • Supervise and manage a team of 8-10 painters, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee surface preparation, paint mixing, and application processes for industrial wet paint and powder coating projects.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure all work meets stringent standards and technical specifications.
  • Develop daily work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Monitor inventory levels of paint, coatings, and supplies, ensuring proper stock and reordering when necessary.
  • Train team members on proper painting techniques, equipment use, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in paint application, equipment, or production schedules.
  • Perform and oversee equipment cleaning, maintenance, and calibration to prevent malfunctions.
  • Track and report production metrics, quality outcomes, and team performance for continuous improvement.
Who You Are: Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial painting, including wet paint and powder coating.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a team in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, and application techniques.
  • Familiarity with interpreting paint technical data sheets and ensuring adherence to specifications.
Leadership Abilities:
  • Strong ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 8-10 employees.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects.
Problem-Solving:
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot defects or application issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Safety Focus:
  • Strong commitment to safety, including knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Capability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions, such as heat, humidity, and dust.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or formal training in industrial painting or powder coating.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or similar process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of employee performance management and coaching techniques.
