DescriptionESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sands and preps materials that require painting. Repairs any damages to materials prior to painting. Mixes paints and primers as per specifications. Performs spray paint (on parts), roller application, and brush application. Maintains and repair equipment and spray paint booth. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties as required by job order or assigned by the supervisor. Basic cleaning duties. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must demonstrate basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to use an airless spray gun.
- Must demonstrate the ability to brush and roll paints.
- Must demonstrate the ability to identify spray guns.
- Must be able to properly clean and maintain spray guns.
- Must have working knowledge of Electrostatic spray painting with Urethane paint.
SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Good judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and comprehend paint finish schedules and assimilate information.
- Must be able to convert and mix liquid measurements (i.e. gallons to quarts, to ounces, etc.)
- Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships and interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of trade secrets.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT, must be able to use the following:
- Sander
- Paint sprayer
- Airless spray gun
- Conventional spray gun
- Foam spray gun
- Wire wheel
- Grinder
- Respirator
- Forklift
- Scissor lift
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Job requires wearing personal protective equipment, such as protective eyewear, respirator, and steel-toed boots. Job requires ability to operate miscellaneous hand and power tools such as sanders and grinders. Exposed to paint fumes while working in paint booth. Job requires working for long periods of time in a standing position while sanding, prepping, and painting. Must be able to ascend, descend, and work from a ladder. Must be able to work at heights 14 ft. and above. Requires stooping or crouching occasionally to sand, prep, or paint.
