YOUAs a Painter you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of paint line products and materials and supporting the powder coat operators. This position is also responsible for quality inspections of products, checking mileage thickness on product and titrations of chemicals.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)Ensure the quality of paint coating through visual and test methods and the overall quality of parts painted through visual inspection. Check welded parts for porosity and missing or defective welds while painting. Follow sequence of schedule to ensure product is painted in correct order distributed to the next process. Follow Safety guidelines and complete paperwork according to procedures defined. (75%)Monitor and maintain wash system titration levels. (15%)Train on other equipment and or processes within the production area to meet customer demands. Check chemical and adhesion tests as required. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEIf you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- 1-year related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training within the powder coating industry.
- Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck certification (will certify at hire).
- Safety: Ability to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practice by promoting a safe work environment.
- Accountability & Dependability: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
- Mathematical Reasoning: Able to apply basic math skills.
- Language: Ability to read and write standard work instructions and correspondence.
- Speaking: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Instruction Comprehension: Able to comprehend a variety of instructions furnished in English, including written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Communication: Able to communicate one-on-one and in small group settings.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify options for solving a problem encountered during the manufacturing process.
- Computer Skills: Able to use computer, touchscreen, and tablet to perform daily tasks and required training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
TRAVEL REQUIREDThis job requires no domestic travel.

Pay$18.46 - $27.69 / hour
