This role includes assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring that all work meets quality standards. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring that appropriate tools and materials are available, placing orders as needed, and managing time cards for accuracy. Additionally, the foreman assists in planning, estimating, and scheduling for renovations and major non-routine repairs, and performs similar tasks as other personnel within the craft.Key Responsibilities:Supervision and Task Management:Assign, monitor, and direct employees in painting various interior and exterior surfaces, including making necessary repairs or preparations.Oversee refinishing of furniture and other wood surfaces, and manage repairs and replacement of glass and glazing for windows and doors.Ensure that tasks are completed according to quality standards and in a timely manner.Tools and Materials Management:Ensure that appropriate tools and materials are available for each task.Place orders for required tools and materials to maintain inventory and avoid delays in work.Timekeeping and Documentation:Collect and review daily time cards of assigned personnel for accuracy.Sign off on time cards to ensure proper record-keeping and payroll processing.Planning and Estimating:Assist in planning, estimating, and scheduling work related to renovations and major non-routine repairs.Develop and review scopes of work to ensure they are clear and feasible.Hands-On Work:Perform similar tasks as other personnel within the craft, including painting, refinishing, and glazing, to provide support and lead by example.Additional Duties:Perform related duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the team and organization. Typical QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.Successful completion of a recognized painter apprenticeship program or four (4) years (48 months) of full-time journey-level painter experience. Five (5) additional years (60 months) of full-time journey-level painter experience.As required by the position to be filled, current license/certification consistent with vehicles, machinery and equipment that is routinely used in the general occupational areas. iiiiii Dependent upon institutional need, incumbents may be required to obtain job-related certification or license, such as a valid Illinois Department of Public Health Lead Abatement Worker License.
