GENERAL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a versatile and skilled Facilities Maintenance Painter with a knack for plumbing tasks, along with painting. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can seamlessly blend their painting expertise with handy skills plumbing and basic handy man type services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to handle diverse maintenance challenges. The primary objective is to ensure the maintenance and aesthetic enhancement of our facilities through high-quality maintenance and painting.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
* Surface Preparation and Painting:
* Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and assess surfaces to determine necessary preparation and painting requirements.
* Prepare and set up work areas including building scaffolding, covering fixtures, and managing workspace safety.
* Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, and removing old paint as needed.
* Fill cracks and holes with suitable materials (e.g., plaster) and ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for painting.
* Mix paint and other materials to achieve desired color and texture.
* Apply paint using a variety of tools and techniques to achieve a professional finish.
* Plumbing Tasks:
* Conduct minor plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing small fixtures.
* Identify and address basic plumbing issues, ensuring systems function properly.
* Assist with installing or replacing plumbing components when necessary.
* Maintenance and Safety:
* Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
* Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good working order, performing basic repairs as needed.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience as a painter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
* Demonstrated skills in minor maintenance and plumbing work.
* Solid knowledge of painting materials, techniques, and tools.
* Aptitude for using various tools, including brushes, caulking guns, and basic plumbing instruments.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle unexpected maintenance issues.
* Manual dexterity and balance to safely work on scaffolding, ladders, and other elevated surfaces.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Certification or formal training in painting or plumbing is a plus.
