OrganizationPaintingPay$19.01Pay FrequencyHourlyFull Time / Part TimeFull timeJob SummaryUnder general supervision, prepares, paints, and maintains interior and exterior surfaces of County buildings by performing the following duties.Job DescriptionAll candidates conditionally offered transfer, promotion, or initial hiring into a DOT/safety- sensitive position shall submit to testing for drugs and alcohol and test negative before performing any job functions that are safety-sensitive or requires a CDL. External job applicants with a confirmed positive drug or alcohol test result shall be denied employment and shall be required to wait one year before applying for another position within Tulsa County. Essential Job Functions Paint walls, ceilings, furniture and furnishings. Prepare wood, metal, plaster, and sheet rock surfaces for painting by filling cracks, holes, and scratches with metal or wood putty and spackling paste. Remove old finishes with paint remover. Estimate quantities of materials and supplies needed, such as sealers, varnish, water, and oil base paints, shellacs, thinners, stains, pastes, tape, and sandpaper. Mix and blend paints and stains to proper color and consistency. Seal, paint, stain, and finish surfaces using brushes, rollers, and paint spray equipment and hand tools. Sand surfaces between coats of paint. Apply tape and joint compound cover over sheet rock joints with broad knife. Sand dry taped surfaces lightly before applying paint. Transport tools, equipment and supplies to job site. Perform snow removal, sand bagging and cleaning of properties. Perform assigned work orders. Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
