Job Description Under general supervision, provides skilled craftsmanship as a journeyman painter performing tasks to include preparing surfaces for painting, applying paints to machinery, equipment, furniture and interiors and/or buildings by spray gun or brush. Responsibilities
- Performs skilled painter work in the construction, alteration, repair, sheetrock alteration, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, walls, stairways, doors, windows, cabinets, machinery, and other structures.
- Scrapes, sands and sizes surfaces before painting.
- Checks conditions of woodwork and reports needs for carpentry repair, as needed.
- Mixes, matches and applies paints, varnishes, shellacs, enamels and other finishes.
- Erects or rigs scaffolds and paints from scaffolds and lifts.
- Covers surfaces and furniture to protect it from paint.
- Removes spattered paint after a job is completed, cleans up and cares for brushes, spray guns and other equipment.
- Sprays stains, paints, sealers and varnish in spray booth wearing a respirator.
- Applies epoxy paint to flooring walls and ceilings wearing a respirator.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Knowledgeable in selecting the right materials and tools for the job.
- Experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, take directions and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work/climb on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.
- Attention to detail; monitors own work for quality.
- Time management skills.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of painting experience is required.
